Nobody hates Claude, not the way Lorenz does. Assured of his guilt despite the lack of evidence, the lack of a crime — if hiding his identity could truly be called that. And Lorenz has seemingly come to terms with that — accepting that his disdain toward Claude was inspired by his father's machinations — but that doesn't mean he likes him. They are comrades. If nothing else, Lorenz is loyal to Fódlan. Not to Claude, nor his own father, if it came down to it.
Just Fódlan: its people. It's the same way Claude feels about Almyra — it isn't a name that matters, not power, but people — but he never had the opportunity to tell Lorenz. And at that moment, as he stood against the treeline, waiting for Edelgard's men to make their move, he thought he would never have the chance to tell Lorenz the truth. No one in Fódlan would even know his name.
