"The frost slowly descends from his mind, freeing his awareness and allowing him knowledge of life aside from the ravenous hunger and the freezing chill. His clothes and skin are still damp and frigid, clinging to his body and dripping onto the furniture. But in his hands and to his lips is something warm and alive. He hums in dazed pleasure. Ambrosia is pulled into his mouth as his tongue dips into the wound. It runs against the tendons, chasing off the hunger with every lap. As life returns to him, his mind clears further."
