“Haven’t I had enough of you for a lifetime?” Darius asked, thinking aloud.
Alador grinned as he answered. “Absolutely not.”

Life has changed a lot for Darius in the past few months after the Day of Unity. For one thing, he's no longer a Coven Head. Next, there's a whole new world of mixing magic and using glyphs that he wants no part of, frankly. Finally, a certain little prince latched onto his side when all the battles were said and done, and he's now struggling to become a caretaker for an angsty and traumatized teenager.
So, of course, Alador Blight decided this was the perfect time to come back into his life and give him an offer he couldn't refuse. Despite their past of being horrible business partners, and romantic ones, Alador seems convinced that this time things will work out. He believes they can work together, rekindle their friendship, and remain perfectly platonic.
But Darius isn't so sure.
