Keeping a pregnancy secret living in the clans is difficult. Keeping a pregnancy secret when you spend a significant amount of time around experienced queens is impossible. When Ferncloud discovers Leafpool's secret before her kits are born there is no hiding it from the rest of the clan, or even the other cats around the lake. Firestar doesn't know what to do about his daughter, but one thing every cat knows is that medicine cats can't have kits.
