The delightful tension of our courtship was over. The mental and emotional connections we’d established had drawn us closer and closer together until the inevitable need to share a physical connection as well reached its breaking point. It was wildly inappropriate to use a Quirk like mine on someone without good reason, which was expressly limited to villain apprehension, teaching, and rescue operations. I knew that. I was dutiful to my social obligation of not making others uncomfortable with the nonconsensual use of my Quirk during personal interactions. It may not be my fault it happened as a matter of course during sex, but it was my responsibility to make sure I didn’t let it affect those I was with. The first couple times I took a new partner to bed, it was typically a non-issue. The unfamiliarity of the physical exchange was enough to overrule the emotions I felt for them. However, any more times beyond that, it was something I had become very skilled at masking. For their sake.
By now, because it just so happened Toshinori was a partner unlike any other I’d known and I was already comfortable expressing my love for him, even if we hadn’t yet said so in words, there were rarely times I could look at him at all when we had sex anymore because I knew my feelings for him meant my Quirk was activating.
