Summary
The realization of how desperately Felix wants to see Sylvain in this moment, right now, as he's bruising his shoulder against yet another unmovable door, how much he needs to find him breathing, needs to find him here, needs to find him unburied, hammers at the walls of Felix's awareness like it means to break them. He's been ignoring for months now, with wild success, the incoming sucker punch that is the magnitude of Sylvain’s importance to him. If he never had time for it at the Academy, he certainly didn't have time for it at war. Edelgard and her armies were bearing down. He would deal with it later. Tomorrow. Soon.
It's now.

Summary
The flowers show up whenever an individual feels something so strongly that it stains their skin, revealing to everyone how they feel and what they have gone through. Some people have a garden littered across their skin, an entire lifetime said through petals, and then some only carry a few of these tokens.
They are said to be a gift from the Goddess, a way to know what someone thinks or what they feel. People see a certain flower and make judgments. If you were to catch a lily on someone you could know that they have encountered death. A cyclamen and you know that they have experienced great sorrow in their life, or perhaps a painful goodbye that left an open wound open their hearts.
The point is, the more flowers you have, the easier it is for people to see you.
Ferdinand counts himself unlucky that he's one of those that the greenhouse on his skin has overgrown into something monstrous.

"Ferdinand,” Hubert says, and Ferdinand knows he will hate the next words out of his mouth. “I know you still aren’t sleeping well. If it’s affecting you in battle then maybe-”
Indignation and anger rise in him like it used to whenever they were around each other. It feels completely foreign now that they’re lovers. “I take one hit and you doubt my abilities? You think me no longer suited for battle?”
“If this was the first one many mistakes, then yes, I doubt you,” Hubert says firmly. “I won’t have you dying because of something so simple as a lack of sleep.”
Simple? The word echoes around his head. The rage he feels unsettles him. He’s tempted to tear his hair out and scream at him, Simple?! You think this is simple?
“I see,” Ferdinand swallows back the harsh words that lay on the tip of his tongue. The next sentence comes out all the same. “It won’t happen again, Minister.”
Hubert’s jaw twitched, the muscles flexing in his face. “See that it doesn’t, Prime Minister.”
Inside Ferdinand, something else breaks.
