“Tell me again why we didn’t bring a dragon to carry all this back?” Oscar asked, juggling a netted bag of dried figs, half a wheel of cheese, and three bottles of golden plum wine.
“Because we’re blending in.” Lando said with a grin, reaching for a handful of candied almonds and tossing one into his mouth. “And because Rocky nearly scorched the melon vendor last time.”
Max rolled his eyes. “He hissed. Once.”

Max loved his freedom, flying, living outside the walls. Lewis wants stability, order and peace. Their fates intertwined before Max knew what an oath is.

Summary
After a long flight, Max refuses to go to bed. He keeps scrolling on his phone, teasing Charles, pretending he’s “not tired.” Charles takes his phone away and coaxes him into letting go, turning it into a slow, grounding scene that ends with Max melting in his arms.

“Charlie… c'mon I don't want to be here any longer ” Max makes a show of pouting at Charles. His words are slightly slurred but still clear enough for Charles to know it's just his lisp and not because he's drunk. Maybe tipsy at best.
“Max….” He sighs. He's a strong man with a stronger will power but Max is looking at him with those blue eyes and adorable pout he always seems to have whenever he isn't getting his way. “Such a brat”, Charles says under his breath.
