    The only reason Shinsou Hitoshi's cat is alive is because the blonde moron who broke into his apartment was dumb enough to alert him that Mitzi had eaten something she shouldn't have.

    The blonde moron also likes to walk through walls and make Shinsou look like he's talking to himself.

    Because the blonde moron is, in fact, dead, and haunting his apartment as a ghost because Shinsou is the only one who can see him.

    “Hm?” It was a few days later, after school. Aizawa-sensei was tempting a stray cat with scraps left from his lunch.
    “Do you think it’s wrong to be nice to someone to trick them into liking you?"
    “Hmm. Depends. What will you do once they like you? Are you using them for their connections? Their money? You want their girlfriend?”
    “No.” Why was this so hard to explain? It had seemed so dark and pressing in the wee hours of the morning. “You just want…their friendship I guess.”
    Aizawa dropped the bone into the dirt. The cat snapped it up out of the dirt and retreated a few feet away, ears perked in their direction as it ate. “So, befriending someone.”

    Moral guilt is a hell of a drug for a teenager. Shinsou Hitoshi finds himself navigating it twice over.
    Luckily, there are people around him who can help.
