Harley Sawyer met Veronica Cassidy in medical school. Both studying neurology, for two seperate reasons. Harley wanted to become a neurosurgeon, while Veronica wanted to become a therapist, and decided to also study neurology as a challenge to herself. Harley both hated and adored her. She challenged him constantly, and drove him mad with how she didn't seem to hold herself above others because of her intellect.
After years of this in medical school, the two finally got together, and eventually married. They grew close, constantly challenging eachother in work, yet somehow staying professional.
In the early '90s, Harley was offered a position at Playtime Co, and he explained the young geniuses program, and why he belived that he was being approached by the comany. Veronica was of course, startled by this, but didn't bother objecting, as the pay was far higher than his current salery.
This story follows the two throught their time working at Playtime Co., and eventualy, the Hour of Joy and years after.
