Summary
Set post S4 finale. A death in the family shakes the Strands, and Carlos is left to pick up the pieces. He's thrust- reluctantly- into being a caregiver. What does this mean for him? His marriage? His future?

There is a beat where he looks like he does not know how to respond. Perhaps he literally cannot. But eventually he finds his voice. “It’s still under investigation. Police aren’t inclined to share details with me.”
“So…” Carlos shakes his head. He knows where this is going to lead, but doesn’t want to believe it. “Is- Is he okay?”
“No, Carlos. He died two nights ago.”

Summary
Set post-ice storm but pre-Gwen death. I find it strange how people don't really talk about how likely it was that TK was given opioids (morphine) during his stint in the hospital while in a coma for his hypothermia. This fic covers that, plus TK's feelings around his addiction, but set from Carlos' perspective.

His shoulder is clapped again and again by other officers and by the 122. The woman, grateful and still running high on adrenaline, embraces Carlos. He notes that this is the seventh random civilian that has hugged him before his boyfriend has.
Three weeks, five days, fifteen hours.

Summary
Rewrites of most Levi & Nico scenes in season 17. A few people asked for a story from Nico's perspective, so I really tried to deliver here.

He’d gotten even lonelier. A cold bed at night and quiet apartment amplified by the fact that he had to be absolutely isolated for his own good and the good of the public. He had the fleeting thought that another person’s presence would do him well, and that single thought caused the dam in his mind to explode open one night.
Missing Levi fucking sucked.

Summary
Rewrites of scenes from 17.13 and 17.16. I believe that they didn't do a good job explaining this sudden turnaround in Nico's behavior, but we're supposed to be viewing all of this from Levi's perspective anyway. Here's how I think it should have gone, and how I think they should've talked about more serious aspects of their relationship. This includes things like Levi's self-image and both of their personal priorities.

“You said,” He cleared his throat; a familiar lump had found its way there. “You said this was just stress relief.”
Levi was surprised when Nico let out a laugh. It seemed as though Nico was just as surprised when he saw the confused contortion of Levi’s face. “You seriously believe it’s stayed that way?”
