"You want me to come with you," he says finally, looking at Verso as though he has entirely lost his mind.

Summary
Before Maelle leaves the canvas for good, she fulfills Verso's wish to be mortal but also makes him promise to look after Gustave. Even though he's reclutant at first, Verso quickly discovers that maybe it won't be that difficult to keep that promise. Gustave's company is not so bad and maybe he does have it in him to try to enjoy life again.

“Julian, you’re up,” Jaskier whipped his head up, opening his eyes again. Famora stood in front of him, looking at him with a hard gaze. For a moment, he just stared straight back, completely dumbfounded.
“B-but I just finished up with…” He gestured down his body, bruises already blooming along with dozens of angry, red marks. She sighed, a flicker of something passing through her eyes, as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
“Look, I know it’s not ideal, but it’ll have to do,” she said.

The thing is, Hob likes his body.
More or Less.
He’s been fat his entire life. From a round, squishy newborn, to a chubby child, to the full-bodied man he is today. There’s been ups and downs- he wasn’t immune to society’s fatphobia more than anyone else- but overall, he feels like he’s been pretty lucky. His parents always encouraged him to be confident in himself, he wasn’t bullied in school, he had good friends. He couldn’t really complain, in the grand scheme of things.
Still, when he's approached by a stranger at the bar, he doesn't expect to be so... thoroughly appreciated.
