Summary
The Captain comes forwards, filling the space Dustin had previously occupied and squats down. He has a pipe in hand and takes a long puff from it, blowing out smoke in Steve’s direction and he huffs, tuning his head and coughing at the acrid smell.
“You’re clever, Siren-son.”
Steve freezes, turning his head slowly to look back at Captain Billy who grins around the pipe, tonguing the end.
His eyes darkened and face hardens, jaw tightening and he stands, face shrouded again, “I know very well the trickery of Sirens, so don’t think you can pull any wool over my eyes.”

You can feed the chickens.” At that, Viktor tilts his head so slightly that Jayce wouldn’t have noticed if he hadn’t been watching Viktor’s reflection so closely. He bites back a grin. “Or maybe sheep. Goats? Cows? But neither of us have done anything like that before… I guess it could be a learning experience for both of us.”
Jayce realizes he made a grave mistake as soon as the landlord opens the coin pouch. But in Jayce’s defense, he has no idea how much renting an abandoned chicken farm costs. Also, he doesn’t really care.
