(Apologies from me, I am not the greatest at summaries)
Stanley is tired of being in the parable, no escape, no chance at freedom. It's even worse when he has to deal with the Narrator alongside him all throughout the way, and his loneliness is nearly tearing him apart.
Though, the Narrator tries to apologize and tries to make it up to Stanley by attempting to help with his loneliness.
