Summary
Lan Zhan wraps a loose hand around Wei Ying's wrist and lifts it just enough to shift onto his back. He brings it back down around his middle, careful not to disturb his lover's sleep. He needn't have worried - Wei Ying's breathing doesn't change, and he doesn't move. His knees are digging into Lan Wangji's legs now, but the pressure feels good. It lets him know Wei Ying is with him.
Seventeen years ago today, Wei Ying had died.

Sitting in the passenger seat while his boyfriend drives at a reasonable speed is one of the most frustrating things in the world. Lan Wangji is kissing him, and kissing him, and kissing him, because he can do nothing else. Wei Ying is huffing breathless laughter into it, and holding him close until he is done.
“You like it, then,” he says through a satisfied grin.
Again, Lan Wangji does not think that quite covers how he feels knowing that Wei Ying had thought about him, about what they had done, about his words, and had transformed those thoughts into new cultivation theory and weeks of work, just to give him a gift. Lacking any way to fully express this, he simply nods.
Wei Ying’s grin turns predatory. “Want to try it?”
