    There’s a breeze off the Hudson, and for Manhattan in the middle of the morning, it was far too quiet. An odd car would drive past Bucky as he walked down the road towards Bennett Park, the distant rattling of the elevated train very faint in the background. There weren’t any other pedestrians. It was strange, and Bucky never thought he would have wished for rush hour any more than he was just then as he dragged his feet through Washington Heights.
