Mike told the end of the story, just as she asked. So that everyone would understand her decision, even though he himself could never understand it. But Eleven never reached the waterfalls. She didn't give him one last look, no telepathic whisper, no final "I love you." Just a boy in a basement, waiting for a vision that will never come.
