It was not okay. It was very not okay. But a moment later the door was opening and Philza was stepping in. As usual, he made sure to lock the door right after, blocking off any escape. He turned to Wilbur, eyeing him where he sat struggling to stay upright in the bed. He smiled sadly at him, and Wilbur responded in kind with another growl.
Or: Wilbur is a vampire fledgling who was rescued by hunters and entrusted to Philza. He is NOT interested in the adoption process.

Tommy crawls his way forward toward the lakes shore. Though crawl is a liberal term at this point. He’s mostly dragging his broken and exhausted body through the underbrush of the forest at this point. Every movement is agony, and all he wants to do is lay down, close his eyes, and rest.
Or: Tommy makes a choice and has to deal with the consequences of his decisions.

“Don’t do it! I’ll be fine! Please don’t!” Tommy screams his eyes well up, anything could be in that vile. Poison, fear gas, sleeping potion. It could do anything to Techno, he wouldn’t take it, he couldn’t. He is more important than Tommy. He is a better hero, a better-liked hero, a more established member of the family.
He can die. They might mourn for a while, but they will get over it. If anything happened to Techno and Tommy had to go home alone, he doesn’t think he could go home. He doesn’t think he would have a home.
