Our story begins with two high school sweethearts, Ochako and Tenya, who met in biology class. As they approached college graduation, Tenya proposed to Ochako in a romantic setting, leading to an extravagant wedding funded by Tenya's family. The couple then moved out of their small town to seek better career opportunities. The story reaches a pivotal moment when Ochako, while cooking dinner, hesitantly asks Tenya if he wants to try for a baby. Given the fertility challenges associated with beta females, Ochako is anxious about his response. However, Tenya reacts positively, indicating a willingness to face the challenges together, thus reinforcing their strong, loving partnership.

Keigo was 6 years old when Enji saved him from his abusive father and neglectful mother. He would go out of his way to see the omega cop, knowing the exact beat he walked. The omega had made sure that Keigo ended up in a good foster home and his foster parents eventually adopted him. Enji would also check on him frequently to make sure he was being treated right. In the story, Keigo has just turned 13 and has presented as an alpha.
Enji’s eldest son had just died and his wife was placed in an inpatient facility for burning their youngest son with a teapot. He was working on the process to file for divorce and gain full custody of the kids. He knew he wasn’t the best parent, but he didn’t have the best model growing up. He was going to therapy to try to be better for his kids. He took less responsibility at work so that he would have more time for his kids.
Alpha Keigo plans to woo Omega Enji by taking him to a fall festival.
