Summary
The Eden conflict was resolved, and so Gunvolt was enjoying a moment of peace he had earned, though not without losses. However, fate continues its acts of cruelty, and he ends up being left with nothing. With his Septima now berserk, Gunvolt decides to go back to the place where it all began for him, and prevent any more tragedies from taking place.

Summary
The Gunvolt series is well-known for its bleakness, especially the Luminous Avenger iX timeline. However, that certainly doesn't mean we've reached the pinnacle of dark moments. This fic revolves around the broken man who has lost everything that mattered to him, and in an attempt of finding a reason to live for, he confronts a new faction that plans to disrupt the peace that has been maintained ever since the fall of Eden.
This story is an AU of the mainline universe that changes the events of the first two games. Read if you're interested in stories with the worst outcomes, similar to LAiX. If you haven't already, check out "Prelude to Despair" in order to not get confused with the events depicted here.
