The "We're in the Epilogue" line from the end of this fic is a good summary for it.
Somehow, things didn't just end like they were supposed to, and so Saps and Flux now have to figure out how to keep going from there, with everything that happened between them still weighing on them heavily.
Slow (and that's a good thing - emotions between them progress naturally) but a very silly and comforting read, especially towards the end. Written very in character -

Prof Saps is a great lecturer and really good at breaking down the big concepts into something simple to understand, but you get a LOT of interruptions while taking his class. For example, my first day, the ENTIRETY of the engineering and some of the architecture faculty came in to help him... teach our class??? I don’t know, they didn’t really do anything except stand around the room weirdly. I remember one guy even standing behind Prof Saps and leaning on him to fiddle with his laptop? Anyway, if you can get past the interruptions- because Prof Saps ignores them most of the time- it’s a really fun class.

Summary

The people who shut him out. Rejected him. Resented him. Thanks to him, life goes on. Thanks to him, humanity still has a world to live on.
Stone’s world, though, floats outside of earth’s atmosphere, nothing but space dust among the stars. Robotnik may have steered the laser away from the planet, but it still blew Stone’s world into a thousand tiny pieces.

what in the hell do I even say
Absolutely fantastic fic, goes through the levels of Stone's grief and suffering after losing Robotnik beautifully. The angst is DELICIOUS, the interwoven bits of flashbacks from their past fit perfectly, and I'm mad that it gave me feelings.

"not really a relationship, they're in a /companionship/" is a very good line that sums up this fic
Full of wonderful descriptions of casual life, just ways of spending time together, that slowly bring the two closer and closer.
Very nice read for a slow, calm evening, day, or nightIt's not really an "established relationship" fic but it slightly fits into this category (at least from some point?) because it turns into this kind of relationship where two characters/ppl are so close together in their early life, that it's impossible to draw a clear line where or label to what kind of connection they share.
