Summary
The Grid. Perhaps not as it was once envisioned, but a Grid all the same, populated by programs, filled with their cities and their lives, free of the influence of Users - or so they believe.
But catastrophic destruction has a way of making even the most stalwart of programs question beliefs they held as absolute. Are the Users real after all? Are they friends or foes? Three programs are swept up in a desperate bid to stop the devastation threatening to erase their home, their world, themselves. They will learn that they are far more than what they were originally created to be, and they will have to use everything they know to survive. It may be just a bit of code to some people, but to them it's home. And they will fight for it to their very last voxel.

Summary
Once upon a time, in the distant lands of Tumblr, I got this prompt: "You’re a mimic. You were disguised as a chair in a dungeon when an adventurer decided to take you as loot. You’ve actually enjoyed your life ever since as furniture in a jolly tavern. So when some ruffians try to rob the now-elderly adventurer’s business, you finally reveal yourself."
I wrote the first part of the story below in 2-3 hours in answer to it. I do love it, and it reminded me that I love writing, that I can still write. I had my doubts for a while. I kept on writing other things at the time, but the second part wrote itself in my head, and made a lot of noise, and in the end I had to get it out so I could focus on other things. I do love it, as well.
I hope you will too.
I was incredibly honored that an author here, Odonata, created a podfic of Part One. I recommend it with all my heart.

The Witches and Wizards Job by GrumpyGreenWitch

Summary
The Leverage team specializes in taking down bad guys, not helping them. But when a highly ranked member of Boston's Russian mafia asks Nate Ford for his help, his case is one the team cannot refuse.
It's also one that quickly begins to stretch past the limits of their expertise, their understanding, and their very belief that they know how the universe works. They need help, and that help can only be found in the Chicago Yellow Pages, where a man by the name of Harry Dresden advertises his services as a professional wizard.
Welcomed by the team with a gamut of reactions, from open disbelief to full support, Dresden and the Leverage team quickly find themselves embroiled in a war between immortals where even their collective skills might not be enough to ensure victory. Or, for that matter, survival. Because ancient powers are stirring in the modern world, and they don't seem to much care who they trample as they go about settling their old feuds, once and for all.

Summary
Not all angels grow to be warriors or scholars of profound note. All Alyss has ever wanted is to be an accountant. He is happy with his quiet, solitary life, until a summons to work for the angel of New England sends him head-first into one of the cruelest parts of angel society, and gives him the chance to do something about it.
Jean has been a vampire for a very long time. But through those centuries he's only ever seen the worst angels have to offer. He has no trust, no faith anymore. He truly believes all angels are monsters, until he meets Alyss. For the amber-winged angel, Jean might face his nightmares, and fight to find himself again.
But angels are ruthless, and their memories long. And the secret they are struggling to keep might come back to break them apart and shatter them beyond repair.

Someone's using young women as prey in the Everglades, and the local MDCSI are not happy about it. Originally posted in FFNET and DA, but I'm in the process of getting all my work out of there and over here. This is also one of my older fics, all the way back from 2006.
