There it is— Seungkwan sees it as he slowly turns around. The weight they’ve spent all this time simultaneously pushing and pulling, now a wall between them.
“Well, I’d tell you you’re wrong,” Mingyu says, slow and steady, “But you would hate hearing that from me, wouldn’t you?”

In the next moment, Seungkwan saw him—the real him.
Dark, shimmery, translucent wings unfurled from the other man’s back and his aura rippled and cracked his illusion. The fog over Seungkwan’s eyes was gone and nausea churned in his stomach. It was clear now. Those eyes were the same ones he had seen countless times across the room: the watchful, piercing eyes of the Dark Fae Prince. Vernon.
And Vernon was staring wide-eyed at Seungkwan, both of their glamours disintegrated into thin air revealing their true forms. Here stood the named princes of two opposing Fae Courts, only one of them had renounced his title and ran far away not wanting to be found. Here Seungkwan was found and his perfect, peaceful bubble he created for himself in this bakery was about to pop. But it wasn’t he who spoke first in terror.
