Summary
He stood staring that the two corpses, questioning the absence of disgust that he should be feeling. He tried to rationalize why their bodies had been left in the room with him. If this was a hospital, surely they’d remove their bodies when they died, even if they were dealing with a highly contagious disease. His gaze wandered to the last cot, expecting to see another corpse.
She was still alive!
Why wasn’t she awake too? Did he just happen to wake up first? Was she suffering from whatever had them all confined to this room? Okay, that was more than one question, but still.
“Hey!” he shouted at the ceiling. “Wake her up! I need to talk to her!”

Dr. Ryland Grace wakes up on the Hail Mary, with no memory, no idea where he is, or what he's doing in space. He's trying put all the pieces together while waiting for the only other surviving crew member to wake up. Grace isn't the only survivor of the Hail Mary crew, but she doesn't wake up until after he's met Rocky. Both have to work through their amnesia to solve the Astrophage problem along side their new Alien friend. Slow burn, and story starts from Grace's perspective, and will go back and forth.
