Summary
Shayne - the son of the Lord of the Seven Valleys - and Damien - a low-born noble's third son- were raised together since they were boys, inseparable and steadfast friends. But things can't stay the same forever, and Damien has to grow up a little faster than his friend, the new divide driving a wedge between the two men. When Shayne runs off and embarrasses his ambitious and proud father before the Queen's representative, Damien is charged with bringing the Lordling home and ensuring he understands that things need to change, and quickly. But unspoken truths, unresolved feelings, and overwhelming expectations of honor and duty might make the journey home a little more complicated than either of them could have ever expected.
