    “I'm sorry, but aren't you Kate Sharma?” he asked, matching her face against the picture from the call a few hours prior. Within seconds her eyes narrowed and the smile immediately vanished from her lips.

    “Anthony Bridgerton?”

    “What a small world,” he tried, but she only gave him a curt nod.

    “Yes indeed.”

    Her tone was just as icy as during their negotiations, and Anthony wondered once more what triggered her animosity.

Over the course of several months, several operas and operettas, a string of work calls and endless pages of legal documents, Anthony falls head over heels for her, despite the fact that she initially seems to dislike him.
