To say that Izuku is scared of the city is to be putting it lightly. But to stay here, on his farm in the mountains after the boar has destroyed his garden, would mean death. Without some kind of miracle, those are his two options: City or Death. He knows in his heart of hearts, that he would do /anything/ to be able to say in his home.
He really should have been more careful about offering "anything".

Summary
He realized before the war that he was completely in love with Midoriya Izuku, and while that aspect of him hasn't changed, he loves him and will always do, something about it has shifted inside him. He believed he didn't deserve his childhood friend, and that he was destined to watch as he lived his life with someone else, someone who was nice, and all those things Katsuki lacked.
He thought he'd take anything his Izuku wanted to give him and it'd be enough.
He doesn't think that anymore.

A new voice bellows right outside and there's something familiar about it, a voice that he hasn't heard in years.
"DEKU!"
Izuku is not sure how his childhood friend knows he's there; he's actually shocked that the number one pro hero still remembers him, but that doesn't mean he's not absolutely relieved to hear his voice again.
"Kacchan! Here!"
