Summary
Wilbur places the photo on the table between them - the picture is of a boy. A young one, who is almost a man, but isn’t quite. The boy in the photo is baring his teeth proudly; all of him looks like color. His hair is bright yellow, his eyes are painfully blue. He’s got a pure white shirt with fire-red sleeves. The boy in the picture is alive.
“That’s you,” whispers Wilbur, voice cracking over an emotion he can’t name, “Your name was - is Tommy. You deserve to be well, and - and our team is going to help you, okay?” he taps the picture again, the sound jostling his instincts and forcing him to look back down at the boy.
“That’s still you.”Or: There is finally testing being done with the cure to the ‘zombie’ virus. Healing takes place on multiple levels, as it is prone to do.
