    A slight pause. Rengoku’s chest stuttered in a weak attempt of a breath.

    “No, it was...more of I felt like I saw the clear, blue summer sky, for the first time.” Akaza smiled lightly as he looked at his marked fingers on Rengoku’s chest, surely feeling his rushing heartbeat. “I wanted to keep that feeling, for myself, hoping you would become a strong demon and fight me forever, just so I could keep a sliver of the sun.”

    This was to become Rengoku’s undoing.
