She's there to fill in the gaps.
To play the melody with them, to tell them it's okay and pick up from wherever they momentarily pause.
Even when her claws sometimes hit the wrong keys, even when she accidentally plays the wrong part, the song still continues.
Kris learns that, despite losing a hand, they can still express their truest passion. They just needed a certain someone to replace what's missing.
