“That’s not—” Shane starts, then stops, because he actually doesn't know how to finish that thought without sounding like an idiot. His jaw works, teeth grinding together.
That's not what I meant. That's not the point. You said I was boring and you were right and I need you to say it again so I know where I stand, so I know what you think of me, so I can stop waiting for the other shoe to drop.
He settles for: “You were kind of an asshole.”

"I don't think you are boring person," Ilya says finally, his voice even. "I need you to know this.”
Shane closes his eyes briefly, then forces them back open. On screen, someone's gingerbread is collapsing. It feels apt. "Okay.”
"No, is not okay." Ilya leans forward to meet Shane's eyes before abruptly remembering he's not allowed to, and sitting back again with a huff. "You say I am supposed to like at least the hockey part, like the rest of you is—what? Is problem? Is something bad I am tolerating?”

Summary
When their attempts to recreate the super soldier serum failed, Hydra started trying to breed Captain America clones from his genetic samples. Unfortunately, the serum's effects aren't passed down genetically, so instead of an army of tiny Captain Americas, they get a bunch of tow-headed, asthmatic, allergic, immuno-compromised little Steves.
And then the Winter Soldier stumbles across Hydra's failed experiment...
