Summary
Dazai shifted, and Chuuya’s hand, traitorous as his ears, settled between Dazai’s shoulder blades. Immediately, Dazai melted.
“Oh, that’s pathetic,” Chuuya muttered.
“Birthday privilege.”
“It’s my birthday, bastard,” Chuuya grit out.
“Exactly. I’m giving my dear slug the gift of being nice to me.”
Chuuya scoffed. “That’s not a gift.”
“It is if you think about it romantically.”
“I’m not doing that.”
Chuuya is in a terrible mood on his birthday. Dazai, naturally, decides this is a problem best solved by breaking in through the window, bringing him a stupid pastry, and cuddling him until he stops hissing.
or: it’s hard to be mean when dazai starts purring like that.

Summary
“How long have you been sitting here under the rain?”
Dazai isn’t sure, he’s lost track of time a while ago. It might’ve been five minutes like it might’ve been one hour for him.
The air has become colder, he can only guess it’s been longer than he thought. He’s freezing. He can barely keep his teeth from chattering.
His hand is covered by a gloved one, and leather brushes against his skin to warm it up.
It doesn’t really work.
“You’re gonna turn into an ice pole if you keep sitting out here.” Chuuya murmurs.
Turning into an ice pole doesn’t sound so bad though. He wouldn’t have to worry about anything.
“Ready to go?”
Or: A small fraction of Dazai’s long journey through the grief for what (and who) he has lost.

Summary
Chuuya's life has already gotten complicated enough since the boss died. The last thing he needed was for the mysterious woman who killed him via murder-suicide to be his ex-wife, with whom he had a whole, real thirteen-year-old daughter.
Because as it turns out, in the last will and testament of Mori Ougai and Shigeko they left her in the care of one Dazai Osamu. Yeah. Yeah. There is no way in the ninth circle of hell Chuuya is leaving an innocent kid in the claws of that amoral roll of toilet paper, so he finds himself being dragged kicking and screaming back into the life of a man he vowed to never involve himself with again.
Or, ten reasons not to entrust a pubescent child into the care of two mafiosi with the combined self-reflective EQ of a dented carrot.
