Summary
Hermione receives her letter inviting her back for her 8th year at Hogwarts, to make up for her 7th year that she didn't get. She is more than ready to go back and finish her schooling officially.
Her boyfriend Ron decided even before he opened his letter he wasn't going back. He says he hated school and wouldn't go back even if he legally had to. Hermione thinks Ron is being absurd and a big argument ensues. Hermione gave him a choice, he either goes back to Hogwarts with her or gets a job. He had been freeloading off Harry for far too long.
In the end Ron makes a bad choice and Hermione breaks up with him. She is going back to Hogwarts and she's not letting Ron hold her back anymore.
Then she meets someone from her past and everything changes.
