Summary
The void inside his body feels infinite, as if it could devour Mozart whole, consume every muscle and drop of blood, shred the bones into beautiful pearly dust, digest the marvelous notes flowing in his mind and soul, until both of them no longer exist. It is completely overwhelming to want, to need someone so desperately that it aches profoundly to have Mozart gaze at him like his regretful life and being can mean something more substantial beyond his imagination. Somewhere between their times in bed is a version of himself he had dreamed he could one day become, sincere, honest, filled with love and loving.

Summary
He is now keenly aware of the smell of Mozart. It doesn’t smell like something he knows, but feels like fresh bread in a bakery, a park lined with trees, or a singing robin. He has never been so close to anyone for their smell to make an impression on him. Salieri takes a deep breath and lands on the floor, the coolness at his feet making him more alert. He doesn’t linger to watch Mozart sleep but covers him well with the duvet. Now and again he knows his existence in this space is wrong. Wrong, unsound, ill advised, so now he travels like a spectre outside the room as if he could disappear from Mozart's story forever. Yet something about the genius' piano is irresistible.

Summary
Salieri turned to gaze at Mozart, and the symphony of yellow, orange, and peach coloured lights magically enticed him. Much like the technique of sfumato of the old masters, the outline of Mozart was gently and softly embraced by the lights. The colours saturated his hair, making it glossier and shiner, as if blessed by fairies, and unconsciously he held his breath. Then the musician also turned to look at him with a playful grin, fully aware of his prolonged staring.

He thinks about them like spilled ink, covering notes on the music sheet in darkness, staining their lace cuffs. The ink would never go neatly back to the glass container, the sheet will never be clean again, and the pool of black seems to be hundreds and thousands of jumbled notes stacked and trapped together. But the ink flows, so fascinatingly, gracefully, almost like having a mind of its own, sternly announcing its presence. So Mozart thinks, the notes that get lost in the chaos can be re-written. They could be better.
