Summary
Mob and Verity have never gotten along.
Both are talented, stubborn, and completely unwilling to back down, making every mission together an opportunity for another argument. What starts as a simple rivalry quickly becomes infamous among their friends—especially when Aldren realizes the two are, frustratingly, much more effective together than apart.
So he keeps assigning them to the same missions.
Again.
And again.
And again.
But somewhere between the arguments, ridiculous competitions, and reluctant teamwork, something begins to change.
They start learning each other's habits.
They begin trusting each other without thinking.
And slowly, the line between rival and someone I can't bear to lose becomes harder to see.
Neither of them is prepared for what happens when one dangerous mission finally forces them to confront just how much they mean to each other.
