“I didn’t know it could be like this” is what Logan says, frayed and small, and it’s enough to force Oscar to suck in a breath. Logan refuses to look at him, choosing to stare at the floor instead. “Homesickness”
The word alone is undoing, and Oscar is moving before he can give himself a reason not too.

“Why do you have to do everything so loudly?” The lump across the way groans, Australian accent almost too thick to decipher.
“It’s not like I’m trying to be loud,” Logan complains.
“Mate, some of us have to sleep.” Logan isn’t truly sure Oscar needs sleep. That’s just his average state. “Can’t you go take a walk?”

[logan: hey, still awake??]
It’s 1:18am. Oscar knows he should put his phone down, he knows he should simply roll over and pretend he hadn’t even seen the text — instead his fingers fumble across the bright LED screen.
[logan: can I come up? can’t sleep]
Oscar tells himself that he’s too tired, that he’s sick of making space for Logan’s long limbs, that Logan’s early alarm will rob him of a few precious minutes of sleep. Oscar tells himself that he doesn’t want Logan there, that he didn’t spend the last five hours willing his phone to light up with Logan’s name. He replies again.

Summary
Everyone gets chosen by a patron god once they’re born. Usually, whatever patron has historically hosted their family line claims them. Logan was not one of such cases. A little time after his first birthday, Logan’s normally light green eyes turned a sharp, bitter blue. And then he went on a rampage where he bit everyone in sight.
