Clarke lets out a long huff, falling next to him on the double bed. Bellamy looks over at her, confused by the pinched expression on her face.
“Bellamy,” Clarke says, eyes closed, fingers massaging the skin between her eyebrows. “Why does everyone think we’re married?”

"What?" Clarke seemed confused, and Bellamy feels obligated to tell her, despite the argument sure to follow.
"Persephone. Hades...he always has his own princess with him."
Clarke shot him a disbelieving look, "And somehow, that's me?"
Bellamy gave a low chuckle, "I'm not the one who said it, Clarke."After the fallout of killing everyone in Mount Weather, Bellamy and Clarke realize that the blood on their ledger is greater than imagined, and even together, closure and forgiveness seems hard to see in the future. But, after Bellamy inadvertently offers himself up to become the new 'Hades' or Lord of the Underworld- a job unoccupied since the nuclear war on earth- he begins to see familiar faces that is now his problem on finding a way across the to paradise. When Bellamy realizes he's begun to fall into the shoes of a favorite mythical god, he starts to put together the one thing that's missing from his own version of the myth; a Persephone, and Clark has an awful lot of things to work out in the underworld too. 'Modern' Persephone/Hades.

Summary
Bellamy and Clarke are set in an arranged marriage on the Ark at the ages of 5 and 10, in an effort to ease the gap between the richest and the poorest of civilians. But, with the hope the pair find love together naturally, the plan is that no one tells them until they're 18, but instead to push them together periodically. Bellamy thinks that even without being assigned to marry her, he would still (in any life) pick Clarke Griffin.
