Summary
“I think we should take shifts. Watching Max, I mean.”
In the aftermath of Max's near-death encounter with Vecna at the Graveyard, everyone tries to cope with the day's events. As her friends take turns watching over her that night, Max still struggles to open up, but finds comfort and kindness in the people she chose to live for.
OR:
Short character interactions in the wake of Dear Billy; a solid 12,000 words of soft hurt/comfort and blatant overuse of the found family trope.

His eyes widened, alarmed. “W-what? No! No, I just— after everything— I figured you’d— we’d—”
Max and Lucas try to meet in the middle again.
