Summary
It's been two years since V agreed to undergo a procedure that was meant to save her life, she wakes up in a world she barely recognizes, to friends that were no longer there, to relationships that no longer matter, and to a world that had moved on without her. She also discovers she can't even go back to her old life, to resume her quest to be the very best. Because she is already a Legend in the eyes of the Afterlife, and there is no such thing as a living legend.
Her combat capabilities have also been diminished, something to do with the procedure, her body being unable to take combat-oriented augments and implants. V's world is now colder, more hostile, and more depraved than she remembers.

Summary
Valerie is a young nomad in the Bakker clan.
Her clan is slowly falling apart and the writing is on the wall. After a few adventures with her family the inevitable happens and she has to take one last job that takes her to Yucca and hopefully Night City.
Her road will be long and hard, but she's willing to make it to the top, and she believes she has what it takes.
Valerie, known as V once her clan started to crumble, will meet different allies and enemies, she will face different challenges, and above all, she will make a choice that will forever change her life.
