Summary

Inspired by a tumblr post by thekatebridgerton, who speculated season 3 could go into a "She's All That" direction.
After the disastrous events of season 2, Penelope Featherington is dreading her third season on the marriage mart. One of her best friends is mad at her and she's mad at her other best friend. More alone than ever, Penelope doesn't expect to receive help in the form of an opinionated dowager countess.
During a disagreement with the queen over her chosen diamond, Lady Danbury makes a bet with her that she can transform even the ugliest of ducklings into a swan. Unlike everyone else in the Ton, she can see a spark of potential in the youngest Featherington girl. She just needs a proper mentor.
While Penelope is flattered by Lady Danbury's faith in her, the observant old woman may just be the greatest risk to her biggest secret. Stepping into the limelight for the first time as herself, Penelope has much to contend with: winning her best friend back, interested suitors, the return of a certain heartbreaking Bridgerton, and, of course, the eyes of the Queen of England who wants her to fail in two different ways.
