Summary
Anthony Bridgerton has been brought in to speak at Penelope Featherington's university at the last minute, after a colleague had to drop out. Penelope has been assigned to be his escort and make sure he has everything he needs. They've known each other for years, but Penelope has never been more than Eloise's shy friend, and Anthony has always been too intimidating for Penelope to ever really have a conversation with him.
Everything is going fine, Anthony's charming the audience with his speech, when Penelope catches something in the audience. A glint of something shiny. She reacts before she has time to think, and ends up taking a bullet that was meant for Anthony. Suddenly the girl he never noticed is the only person who matters.
