Summary
He’d almost died that day, when magic returned to the world. While smoke tainted each breath in, and the torn remains of his fellow townspeople littered the ground, Techno found himself thanking the god he served for the swordsmanship he never knew his father possessed. Phil looked past his shoulder, and blood red eyes met blue.
“Techno,” his tone was sharp, something he’d never heard from the man. “I need to go. Take care of your brother, and I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Techno reached out, but unlike every other time he’d done so, his father backed away. He let his hand fall. A curt nod was the only thing he could muster as he picked up his own blade with a white knuckled grip.
Phil spared him a smile, but it was tainted with something like sympathy.
“Thank you.”
And with that, he disappeared.

In short, it’s a medieval fantasy setting where fantasy is late to the party. Phil makes sure his sons are safe and leaves for unknown reasons. This story is Tech and Will’s journey as they navigate this new world in search of their father, which is how they meet Tommy. Typical SBI bonding ensues.Tags will be updated as they come up.
