And yet his Lena still came out so bright.
“I’m not cute,” she whined, bucking and writhing beneath him. “I…I’m not. I have scars.”

It drove him insane how much he wanted to worship every last one, to kiss the places where the world had hurt her until Yelena finally understood that none of it could ever make her less lovely to him.

And the next?
His body had gone slack. His head tipped back, his hands falling uselessly to his sides as the last of that terrible golden light sputtered around him. Then he was free-falling back to earth like a comet, and Yelena felt her heart stopping as she watched his body fall on her screen.
“Bob!”
She was on her feet and moving before she fully understood what she had seen.
Or: Based on the rumor that Bob manages to separate the incursion, buying both Earths more time before they collide in Doomsday, he falls afterward—disoriented and overwhelmed—and Yelena is the one who runs to him.
