Ajax’s life so far hasn’t been the greatest. Add together parents he can’t acknowledge or hold actual conversations with, a military upbringing, a subpar middle school education, a trip to hell and back, and the constant nagging urge to spill the blood of any creature stronger than him, and some would be inclined to believe Ajax to be crazed and miserable.
But, with his harbinger ascension ceremony on the horizon, his engagement to the man of his dreams about to be formally announced, and the coming opportunity to do battle against entire armies of other nations, what could possibly spoil this one perfect moment in Ajax’s chaotic spiral of a life?

Now what would the well-renowned Duke of the Fortress of Meropide ever need luck for?
Well… when the courts unceremoniously drop the responsibility of looking after an unpredictable, battle-hungry harbinger of chaos into his fortress, perhaps it’s luck that makes something about the harbinger so pleasantly intriguing.
Though initially wary of Tartaglia, something seems so alluringly familiar and… almost nostalgic about the way he acts. Almost as though Wriothesley were rediscovering a piece of himself that he long thought to be lost.

Summary
The Chief Justice is left unsettled by recent events involving a certain harbinger’s questionable guilty verdict. He can’t seem to get the idea that he’s missing something important out of his mind.
He begins visiting Tartaglia during his sentence in the hopes of finding that missing link, but he never planned for their meetings to become so… enjoyable.
Unfortunately, as the loss of his vision slowly erodes the young harbinger’s mind, the Chief Justice is left to wonder if every sweet moment… if every touching feeling… if the whole of their realationship is truly real… or merely a product of Tartaglia’s growing madness.
