Summary
Jonas, an innocent child, is selected to be the next Receiver of memory. Continuing his role as the Receiver, he discovers things. Things that might've been better left unnoticed. While sorting through his mixed feelings, he comes across a helpless newchild. In an act of wholesome, brotherly love- or perhaps a need to prevent pain from seeping into others- he takes the newchild and ventures off into the unknown. One faithful day, he gets captured. Gets bound.
Shackled.
Betrayed, he falls into a stage of depression.
Now fourteen, Jonas realizes his mistakes and mourns what is lost. His discontentedness leads to an act that would change history forever. Not wanting to hurt anyone, not wanting to continue the chain of Receivers, he does this.
Jonas, a once innocent child, his only pain being knee-scrapes and smashed fingers transforms into a desolate world were suffering runs loose, but will he be able to carry the burden?
