Summary
Niragi and Chishiya each carry their own burdens of trauma, which unexpectedly forge a connection between them after a significant incident. However, the longer they spend together, the more they realize just how troubled their lives truly are. Eventually, they lose contact after a series of chaotic events tear them apart.
Years later, they find themselves in The Borderlands. At a meeting, Niragi is shooked by a familiar face—Chishiya, , a person from Niragi's past who cuts through his facade with ease. As their paths collide once more, both are forced to confront their shared history and the unresolved issues between them.

Summary
Chishiya thinks Niragi is drinking too much too fast, and he considers that he would’ve preferred to be left alone tonight. But he’s also looking at the slope of Niragi’s nose, the minute jut of his chin, and he’s self-aware enough for the thought that’s been there from the beginning to materialise like a threat on a fogged-up mirror.
He must be tired, more so than he thought, because whatever is showing on the TV is irritating, and Niragi is handsome. Not just objectively, anymore.

“And where do you suggest I ‘fuck off’ to, Niragi?”
The way Chishiya says his name makes him feel like nothing more than a spectacle. Like a predator trapped in a too-small cage, trying to reach a dead animal that’s being swung just out of his reach, over and over again. But he’s not the only predator, is he? Chishiya’s expression is refined into something halfway between pity and revulsion: disdain that makes Niragi feel prey rather than killer. “You’re pissing me off. Leave me alone.”
“Alright,” Chishiya concedes, voice not at all like the dissecting narrow to his eyes.
He drops it.
It still feels like he’s won.

While Arisu and Usagi try to win the game of Croquet against the Queen of Hearts, her counterpart’s card still hangs ominously over the Police Station of Central Shibuya. Chishiya and Niragi take it upon themselves to face the King of Hearts hand in hand in hopes to get back into the real world and start over again — together.
What the King of Hearts has in store for them, though, will lead them both to the brink of ruin - and beyond.
