Now he’s sure his hands are trembling.
“I’ve literally fought an Abyss Mage with broken ribs before, I think I’ll be fine, Mom.”
“I don’t care-”
“Exactly. So why are you even making a big fuss about this? We don’t know each other well enough for me to invoke such a reaction out of you, Master Diluc.” His tone is teasing, goading.
And it works.
Diluc stares at him blankly before exiting the tavern. Kaeya tends to his own wounds.

He’s seen Tubbo collapse into a mess of fear and anxiety, he’s heard Ranboo whisper assurances of safety that Foolish can tell he doesn’t even believe himself.
So he stays.
