Ewron knew he was going to die for some time now. Long before the deal with Multi, letting the scientist cover him in uranium for some vague hope that he’ll trust him. Long before Ghosty's resurrection - the knowledge itself was the reason he pushed himself to do it. If he was going to die anyway, he would use any time he has to make amends.
