The small picture prints and Ava waves it in the air for a few seconds before looking at it and laughing loudly.
“Let me see that-” and she snatches it from Ava’s hands, pulling a face when she sees herself in the photo, book held awkwardly in her arms and eyes squeezed, face grimacing at the unexpected flash. “Absolutely not-burn it.”
“What? No,” Ava laughs, snatching it back, “this is for my wank bank,” and at Beatrice’s horrified face she snorts, “dude I’m kidding, obviously.”

Summary

She never expected to return from an injury this season, but she was grateful for the support she received from her city. While she anticipated her teammates would motivate her to return, she was amazed by their trust in her leadership upon her comeback.
She also never expected that someone close to her would betray her.
Lastly, even though she is in love with Ava Silva, she didn't expect that there would be someone else that could capture her heart, completely. Someone who has not even been alive in this world for more than a few hours and has already made a big impact on her life.
