It was cute, Chan thought. Minho was cute.
The bedroom was hot. A sticky sweat-sex stench clung to his skin and the air. He wasn't sure how long they'd been at it, but his hands slid across Minho's hips, a smooth glide despite how tightly Chan was clutching him, ten little white points of pressure visible against Minho's warm tan skin.

It’s a chance really, that now that their pack has expanded, Minho’s tasks are reduced to take care of the kids, cook, and lend a hand in the reparations and farmwork. He likes hard tasks, the way his body built muscles upon hours of strenuous activities. He feels more alive than he ever did in the city.
Minho loves that the kids are all theirs. Minho is Appa to all five even if he’s really father to none. It’s Chan’s doing obviously. Only the pack leader can decide on such a tradition. But no one protested, even the tamed alpha.

Minho is four weeks pregnant.
He finds out on a Tuesday morning, alone in the bathroom of the apartment that no longer feels like his. The sunlight coming through the blinds is too bright, too cruel — it lands on the small plastic stick in his shaking hand like it’s exposing him.
Two red lines.
Clear. Unmistakable.
He stares at it longer than necessary, like if he waits long enough, one of them will disappear out of pity.
It doesn’t.
He laughs once. Soft. Breathless.
Of course.
Of course life would choose now.
The doorbell rings an hour later.
A thick envelope. His name is written neatly in familiar handwriting. He already knows what it is before he opens it.
The divorce papers are signed.

that’s the only word chan can think of as he watches his mate outside by the pool, atop one of his favorite lounge chairs, the expensive ones chan had bought for him on their last anniversary. they had ‘completed’ the look of their backyard according to minho, though chan thinks otherwise as he watches him, near naked, bathing in the golden rays of the late afternoon sun; he thinks minho is the real shining piece of the picture.
