Hinata smiled, but his expression was terrifying. His eyes were wide and bright, too bright, burning gold. “Is that a challenge?” the little god asked.
Tobio smiled back, and his eyebrows drew down to form a frightening grin of his own. “Yeah. It is.”
The sun god’s hand blurred out, bending him forward, warm fingers pressed to the back of Tobio’s neck.
“Then tell me your wish,” Hinata said in his ear, his breath hot as his lips brushed over Tobio’s skin.’

Once a year, all the villages that follow the way of the sun offer up one of their own to be taken to the sun god's divine temple.
